Above are pictures of representative juveniles. You can see examples of the potential of my breeding stock throughout our website and social media accounts. Lateralis do not show their beautiful adult coloration until sexual maturity at approximately six months. While still beautiful chameleons, they all basically look the same as juveniles.
Carpet chameleons are some of the most diverse chameleons in the colors they exhibit. There are no "locales" as there are with panther chameleons. Our animals are bred to maintain this diversity. We do not breed for a specific look but instead strive to maintain vigorous health and genetic diversity. Carpets, especially females, can vary a lot in color among clutch mates and may even adopt different colors through different stages of their lives.
A comfortable lifetime, for a single adult, can be provided in an 18"x18"x18" habitat with my recommendation of a fully planted bioactive glass or PVC habitat. Of course, you should provide larger if you choose and are able. While they can be kept in the typical screen chameleon enclosure, I strongly prefer to provide them with a beautifully planted solid sided habitat. It is much easier to maintain the high humidity they need, and to control temperatures in a range that is comfortable for them in glass or PVC. With proper care and husbandry, these captivating chameleons can thrive and become a stunning addition to your family.
